*All tapestries have either sleeve or small metal bars sewn onto the back or loops attached to facilitate hanging.
Tapestry Construction:
Jacquard machine woven tapestries, many being inspired by famous originals or works of art. Jacquard tapestries are woven on looms purposely designed for their manufacture - so that the tapestries will maintain their shape and quality for many years. Yarns of different colours are woven to form unique designs - a process designed to imitate hand woven tapestry that was perfected by the Frenchman Joseph Marie Jacquard ± 1806. Unique looms create their own "fingerprint" - imparting differing tapestry textures and qualities. All Adorabella machine woven tapestries are of European origin.
Aubusson Hand Woven tapestries, reproductions of famous masterpieces created by hand in the French weaving technique of Aubusson, whereby the tapestries are hand woven on unique looms - the image is woven from the back (the tapestry being face down) by the weft (horizontal) threads following the design that is positioned face-up under the warp (vertical) threads.
CLEANING & PROTECTION:
*Cleaning - Occasional light vacuuming or when absolutely necessary by dry cleaning - by a reputable company.
*Fire Retardant &/or Stain Protector - must be applied by a method of Vaporization only. Recommended product is Protenyl 460 manufactured by Protex. We recommend application by a professional service. Tapestries should not be placed in a bath or dipped, as colours will run. Fire retardant and stain protector can be applied by the weavers in Europe before final finishing - Price On Application.
OPTIONS & ACCESSORIES:
*Hanging Loops - can be supplied for most tapestries depicted. Hanging loops not inherent in the design are remanufactured in the Adorabella workshops. Price on Application.
Weight Bars - All tapestries are suplied with complimentary weight bars (unless requested to the contrary), inserted and concealed into the bottom of the tapestry to assist with optimum hanging. All tapestries are shipped, pressed and rolled ready for hanging.
